2021: Light Spaces. Wilfried Kirschl - the painterly work

Museum Schloss Bruck, West Wing
June 25 - October 26, 2021

A play with the boundaries of light, space, and volume

Wilfried Kirschl, as an art historian and author of the standard work on Egger-Lienz, has shaped the art scene in Tyrol after 1945 as a painter, exhibition curator, collector, and protagonist in the cultural sector like few others. The exhibition "Light Spaces", carried out in cooperation with the Innsbruck City Museum, focuses entirely on his painterly work, in which Kirschl proves himself as the designer of a timeless aesthetic counterworld to reality.

In doing so, he plays with a formula from Le Corbusier and artistically draws boundaries with space, light, and volume. "Space, light, volume - I believe that this triad, whether it is manifested in a still life or in a landscape, is the actual theme," said Kirschl about his own work.
