HI5- So and art without borders
The Tyrolean Band HI5 is one of the most exciting formations in contemporary instrumental music. Their tours have already taken them across the globe – from the USA to Japan, from Mexico to In dia. With an impressive resume of international performances and creative collaborations – including with the radio.string.quartet and with the Tyrolean Jazz Orchestra - the four musicians are setting new standards.
The current album “Pool” marks the seventh chapter of the band"s history and is all about musical maturity. Chris Norz (Drums & Percussion), Philipp Ossanna (Guitar), Matthias Legner (Vibraphone) and Clemens Rofner (Bass) master the subtle interaction with a virtuosity that has grown through their long-standing collaboration.
In “Pool” precise composition and free improvisation merge into a homogeneous so and . The music thrives on contrasts: soft tones contrast with powerful passages, in between a wide range of tonal facets unfolds. This creates a musical overall picture that clearly goes beyond the sum of the individual performances.
Stylistically, HI5 cannot be pigeonholed anyway. Electronic elements, influences from Minimal Music, Alternative Pop, and Jazz seamlessly interlock – shaping a distinctive band so and . The creative energy and rhythmic pull of their pieces inevitably captivate the audience.
“Pool” is an impressive proof that instrumental music can deeply touch and inspire – full of tension, sensitivity, and artistic foresight. A real listening experience – not only for jazz lovers!
